Frequently Asked Questions.
Do I take wholesale orders?
Yes I do! If you’re interested in carrying Tongass Resin in your shop please send me an email and I will send you my wholesale pricing document and we can discuss. I love having my pieces in different stores!
How to care for your Tongass Resin pieces?
To ensure that your pieces are with you for many years to come please be gentle with them! I would advise against showering and swimming with them on. The natural oils of your body will rub off on the resin, no worries though! You can easily clean them with a little room temperature water and dish soap. I would advise storing your jewelry out of direct sunlight, as repeated exposure to sunlight can cause the real plants inside to fade. Most of my pieces are silver plated or brass and can tarnish over time, I suggest using a tarnishing cloth to clean or purchasing brass cleaner if you wish to brighten up your pieces. I do not recommend showering, swimming, or doing strenuous activities in my jewelry as this will increase the risk of damage or loss.
Why did the plants in my piece fade in color?
All of the plants inside my pieces are real and are not dyed, over time, when exposed to direct sunlight the plants may fade in color. Depending on the plants fading can vary, more delicate ferns and flowers are less resilient in the light. I see this a beautiful transformation that my pieces take on over time, as the seasons change, and life unfolds. We cannot control nature and I have no control over how the sun and time can affect the plants in my pieces.
Where do I source the plants in my pieces?
Almost all of the plants used in my pieces are collected and preserved by me from the Tongass in Alaska. I love collecting different plants and flowers when I travel to use in my work too! I also never pass up preserving a bouquet of flowers or my garden! Occasionally friends will send me plants or bones to work with too! I never collect plants that are protected and am always practicing ethical foraging techniques when in the woods. All bones used are legal and mostly collected by me on my adventures in the woods.
Shipping Q&A:
Tracking is always sent out when an order is shipped! If an order does not show up please contact USPS to see what your options are. Feel free to contact me if an order never shows up and I will see what I can do, unfortunately I am not always able to replace lost packages and once it leaves my hands I have no control over the package. If an order shows up damaged, I will do what I can to replace that order but I cannot guarantee replacement depending on cost and supplies. Please remember that I am a one woman team and I am not in control of USPS! If an order is returned to me because address is incorrect or an unknown issue occurs I am happy to re-send it but I will be in contact for another shipping payment. I do not offer refunds on orders. If you place multiple orders in the same day I am happy to combine shipping and refund you the extra shipping cost via venmo or shop voucher, please email me so I can now to combine orders.
What if one of my pieces breaks or I lose part of it?
I take these on a case by case basis, if it is an easy fix or I have the hardware I may be able to fix it. If I repair your piece it will cost you shipping and at times for labor if it is a lengthy fix. If a piece is absolutely destroyed I cannot fix that. Please send me an email if you have an inquiry.
I can’t find what I want in your shop?
My website updates occur anywhere from once or twice a month, many items sell out quickly. I recommend signing up for emails to stay up to date and setting an alarm if you have an eye on something.
Do you do customs?
I do offer customs! Please reach out over email if you’re interested in a custom and we will see what we can do, I am not always able to recreate something.
